Description
Echo 'result' means that an echo has been completed and so I am including procedure codes. I am assuming that all completed echos are reported to to primary care.
JJL: I added a search for ejection fraction, which presumably has come from cardiac imaging, most of which would be echocardiography. Not including diagnoses of EF with HF, which would be a separate list (we could consider if should be included). I include transthoracic echo, transoesophogeal echo, not intraoperative/ICU types.
Methodology
Cloned from codelist : Echocardiography result NJ 1. Searched "echocardiography" 2. Removed referrals for echos and with help of chatgbt to exclude fetal echos, invasive or specialised incl epicardial echos, not used typically used to investigate heart failure. I assume that someone who was found to have severe HF would have a code for basic echo even if they subsequently underwent a more specialised or invasive echo. If that is an incorrect assumption, I will have excluded some codes that should be included.
