Description
This codelist comprises diagnostic codes for gestational diabetes. Such categorisation facilitates the use of algorithms (see reference below) to adjudicate a) diabetes type and b) diabetes presence - both often inadequately recorded in primary care records.
Methodology
The NHS Data Migration Workbench was used to map version 2 Read codes from an existing diabetes codelist (derived in CPRD) to CTV3 codes, searching up and down the hierarchy at each stage.
