We included Famciclovir 125mg tablets, Famvir 250mg tablets ,Famciclovir 500mg tablets , Famciclovir 750mg tablets.
Borderline cases
The codelist focused on oral tablet formulations relevant to routine community antiviral prescribing within the Pharmacy First context. No additional borderline exclusions were identified.
Sensitivity vs specificity
The codelist was designed to maximise sensitivity for oral famciclovir prescribing in primary care by including both branded and generic tablet formulations across commonly prescribed strengths.
Additional information
Both branded and generic oral tablet preparations were included to ensure comprehensive capture of famciclovir prescribing within UK community and general practice datasets.
